I have an old 233mhz computer, with 64 megs of ram and is running windows98. I was wondering if I upgraded to XP, would it be much slower than on 98? Or should i just stick to windows 98? I already have the upgrade disc so money plays no factor.
Windows 98 will be faster than XP. That's pretty much guaranteed. I think with only 233 MHz, it will have a tougher time getting everything done as quickly as it would on 98. If I were you, I would just stick with 98, or 2000.
Better yet, install a *nix OS with a lightweight window manager like fluxbox. I am positive that will be far faster than 98, or if you want windows I would say check out winNT.
