I plan on installing a firewire port on my new dell. Will the editing software that comes with it be enough. It's a junky $20.00 firewire card. Then its trying to get the information to my hard drive then to burn it.wow................

Well, is a junky $20.00 (2) port firewire board good enough to do video transfers from my canon zr200.

How do I get the file to my hard drive ? With the video editing from the firewire install ?

Then finally to burn it all to DVD.It's a philips DVD burner 16x

The computer is a Dell dimension 3000 (about three months old w/XP )

Pictures are a snap.I hope the vidoe transfer and burn process is as easy!

well, I suppose that any firewire card will probably work, as long as it captures the video of course. the software you use to do this is your choice. You could use windows movie maker for example, (comes with windows). It will cature, edit, and burn to a cd or dvd for you. there are other programs out there aswell, such as adobe premeire. And anything by adobe is good.

Well I'll get that tomorrow and upgrade my sound card to one with a digital coax output also tomorrow.Thanx
