I received a spoofed email today and I thought I'd have some fun with it like entering FBI as my name and tellin them they were going to jail as my password etc when I noticed they provided a link to a domain. That was stupid I thought since they would be providing their home address and number so I did a whois look up (<< Removed >>) which said the domain does not exist. But I clicked the link anyway and sure enought it resolved. How the hell does it do that?

I'm thinking its something to do with the << Removed >> bit at the end but then the first tld resolves too.

Cause i just get this when i clicked on the link

You said that the host resolved, all i get is a not found screen etc.
But there was definately a webpage here before because this is different from the normal default screen that shows up when you can't find a webpage. But now it had disappeared.

Could they have found out that you posted it on your forum ? hmm ... probably not, couldn't find out that fast or change it that fast.

yeah its a forwarding domain
