3200+ or 3000+

well im planning on upgrading one of my other rigs and i was wounder if a 3000+ would be ok for games (I'v heard that high end gaming rigs dont need a super CPU) Here is the setup so far for the rig:

3000+ anthlon
80gig harddrive
9800se 128mb
420 PSU
1gig ram

Think this si a good setup for a budget gaming rig?

PS Budget for this rig i would like to keep underd 650

That's pretty good. I'd go with a 6600 GT, but I am a nvidia guy.

Thats what i was thinking but thats a littel over my current budget.. Oh would a 9600xt 256mb card be better than the 9800se 128mb for gaming?

*EDIT* Will this system be able to run games like Battlefield2 and halflife2?

Are you going amd xp or 64? Also, going to a 9600 would be lowering the card, I'd stay with the 9800 and yes it will run both.

They had said to run Battle field 2 on a 1.4ghz machine, 512mb of ram, and a g force 4 or something like that.

You'll be able to run it.

Yea, it'd be nice dude. No changes maybe a bigger PSU, for more power but other then that it seem's good.
