A question for anyone that is knowledgable in electrial industry.. I suggested per because I heard he did that for many years.

I want to put in a GFCI in my aunts trailer. I know how to connect it but I have some concerns..

They plugged in a coffee maker and after awhile the plug outlet started melting. bad coffee pot I think. It burnt up about 2 inch of the wires in the wall.. I pulled the wire out and snipped it clean.. Installed a new plug..

I thought that installing a GFCI plug here would be a good choice. However, I was reading the instructions and it says:
Cautions on Box said:
"Use this GFCI receptacle with copper or copper-clad wire. Do not use it with aluminium wire."
What happens if I use this with aluminium wire? Also do they make special GFIC's for aluminium wire?

I think this trailer is alumium wire. 70's trailer home and the wire is a silver color.
