hey i started a thread about 2 months ago about getting a gaming PC, but i never did get the thing because my parents didn't like my marks and attitude in school i guess, so now i havta go 2 some crap private school which i pretty much need a computer for which is pretty ironic i guess well anyway iv been watchin the computer scene on and off for the last few months and the main changes seem to be the new geforce 7800 and dual core AMDs. Im gonna be playin high end games on this thing plus im thinkin about maybe gettin into some kind of computer thing like maybe flash stuff or learning how to make games (not full out game making ,obvioulsy id need 2 go 2 some special school 4 that) but with access to a really good computer pretty much all the time and not just every other weekend (like now) im almost definitly gonna get into making maps for UT2004 and WC3 and other games that come out(iv been makin maps 4 brood war for a long time so i not just some noob sayin yea im gonna do that, i know the work it takes even tho iv been in the UT2004 editor and realize its completly different from BW and WC3 but it looks funner to use in a way, not many if any of those damned triggers it seems :D :D :D )...but anyway i want it 2 be a good pc for at least a couple years and im takin a computer coruse at the school, no idea what its all about but it would't hurt to have a nice pc for it. Also i can't have a car at this school and my parents owe me for sending me 2 this place so iv got some cash saved up and some commin my way and nothing to spend it on this year except snowboards and computers (and a probly a paintball gun and electirc guitar...) which means i can get a few really nice parts but as always buyin smart and saving money and ending up with an awesome rig is better then just buying the most expensive thing you can find when u can get equal or slightly less quility for way less $$ anyway this is what im looking at so far

main questions i have right now (keep in mind everything is in canadian money and iv rounded prices 2 the 5, ussaly up because nobody likes those deciving .99s)

-is everything compatible?
-is there anything im missing?
-does it look good for upgrade ability?
-does the set up look good for the price?
-about the new 7800... is it better in the long run then a 512mb 6800 ultra? and can i put it in SLI with a 6800 ultra?
-are the double RAMs and HDs a good idea?
-what is DDR2 ram all about? it says only some mobos are compatible with it, but i could't find any mobos that said anything about DDR2... seeing as ram is pretty cheap iv like 2 get DDR2 ram or at least a mobo thats capable of using it so i can get some in the future.
-monitor, overpriced? good choice? (has alot of good reviews+nice msrt)
-how much better are the dual core CPUs then the regulars(im guessing alot better) ? and also i remember somebody said that winchester cores are the best AMD cores , how do i know if the cpu has winchester core(s)?
-the cd and dvd drives i have listed are burners but i asummed they can read dvds and cds just as good as regular drives, was i right?
-any suggestions for parts or can u find me parts cheaper? (remember canadian shippin companies only unless there is a crazy good deal then i can probly arrange 4 shippin 2 some1 in the US and pick it up from them.
-If i think up any more questions u can be sure ill post em but im all out for now i think.
-is there any chance i can haggle with this site or is it all computer processed?
-(yea, i like my commas and brackets...not really)

any suggestions or comments or anything at all are appreciated.
sorry for any mistakes

Uhhh ...you dont need that kind of computer for School work....lol...Remeber a processor isnt that important for high end games....Graphic card is....uhhh people people

Well theres no question about it lasting a few years lol. if you are going for such a high end computer stick with the 7800. there are MOBO's on tigerdirect.ca that support DDR2. i have only looked it up for intel supporting MOBO's though, and no the prices are set you can't "haggle" with them. Overall everything will works beautiful.

There is no way you will need all those stuff for school stuff! It's just waste of money...

No, don't go with the 7800GTX GPU, they are such a waste.... And the MSI Neo4 sucks... mine blew up and is a TERRIBLE OCer... get the ABIT's nForce4 series if u want a good MOBO. ALso, Aspires PSU's are HORRIBLE. Get a different case and PSU seperate. Here are some part revisions to keep in mind if I were u...

Ok, here is a little lesson with an AMD processor. AMDs use an integrated silicon derived main DIMM RAM controller built onto the PCB for the CPU housed under the aluminum heatsink. Now, you have AWESOME components, and then CRAPPY RAM. Your dual core will run at 75% power with that SHITTY RAM. RAM is the second most important component in a PC. Here is the RAM you need to get no matter what. Oh, and BTW, Corsair sucks as a company. Their RAM is TRASH.

RAM: Order two of these bad ass sticks for the best performance out of that dual core AMD.

Get whatever case you like, im not recommending that.... However, make sure it doesnt have a PSU in it, and order this one

ThermalTake is what is in my Bros and my dads PCs, and they are very good. 560watts should be enough i hope.

Ok, that is all for now, otherwise you are pretty well off. If you have enough money, do dual 7800GTXs, but honestly, two 6800GTs together SLAUGHTER a single 7800GTX.

Id go Dual 6800 ultra's and I would go with a faster HDD instead of a 7200rpm you can go 10000 rpm or faster. You will have decreased load times. Also i would scrap the CD drive DVD drive will work just fine. As for the MOBO i would stick with it. Everything else is Awsome.

About everyones Stupid comments about you dont need this for school, um I dont think his parrents know. Keep them kind of Comments to yourself he did not ask for them.

Keep your original Format besides the HDD, drop the CD drive, and get 2 6800 Ultras Leadtek the ones with the HUGE heatsink on it.

Thats my Recomendation.
