What To Look For In A Notebook?

I am looking around for a laptop for my gf. She will only be using it for email, AIM, web surfing and using her digital camera. I don't want to buy the bottom of the barrel due to laptops limited upgrade potential. I know enough about PCs, but I'm clueless when it comes to Laptops.

Other than RAM, what components are important to a laptop used to the above purposes?

I've been looking around Dell's website btw.

The hard drive is also important, the other thing is how fast the internet will be.. check all those stuff. The graphic is also important. I think you should buy Hp laptop. It works great for me.

Something that can support running a web browser and a media player at the same time. Also, some good image editing software. Sounds like she'd be the perfect candidate for a Mac.
