I'm missing a hard drive and a processor. I was hoping people could point me in the right direction with the processor. And any helpful hits or improvements on my list would be appreciated. I'm in Australia and was wondering about an online company that delivered to Australia too? Also i am on a budget of about $1000-$1500

Hey greorge,
Welcome , hows it goin ?

Any way im getting a new PC to and for a CPU i'd Recommend a AMD 3800+ ... some may say its a little over kill, but look at it this way ... it'll last you longer .
and for a harddrive. really nowadays their all pretty quality .. just make sure you get a big one ... their pretty cheap right now ...

Also i have almost the identical Motherboard as you . and im runnin a ATI Radeon X800XL ...
BTW check and see if the card your gettin is 8X or 16X ... makesure its 16X .

Um...

The mobo doesn't support but up to pc3200/ddr400 and makes no referance to supporting ddr2 memory.

Edit: Let me make that statement a little clearer. The board only supports up to ddr400/pc3200. Any thing faster would be a waste of materials and money.

yeah but 3200 is still pretty quick and in my opinion its not worth the money to upgrade more ...

So seti if that mobo isn't any good what do you suggest i get? And I was going to get the x800xl but this card is pretty cheap.

thanks steven11 but I know how to make one I'm looking more at what parts are good and what is compatibile. That kinda stuff.

How are you going to power this thing? Also if your not using an SLI setup why get a board that supports it?

for 1000-1500$ I can build a pretty decent system, what are you using this system for, gaming? are you going to overclock?
