Laydown case blues...

You can buy a low profile slot bracket and switch them out. But I thought that the desk tops like that used a "riser" to fit the mobo and then the graphics card fit sideways on the riser card.

PCI slots on those types of systems will most likely have a 90deg riser to let a fullsize card in the box or to add more slots. It plugs in to the ISA slot. Slower than mollasses in january. But most can't have that on agp because of the clearance from the slot to the bottom of the cpu. And if it's a cartrige type cpu then there is zero clearance. It has to go straight up out of the slot or it don't fit.
HOLY SMOKES, hold on here.
Some member was having card clearance problems and another member pointed them to a site in the UK that was a parts house for miniATX systems. They have a agp riser that is on a ribbon cable. Might be the ticket here. I don't recall the site or the thread. Can some one look it up, please?

ahhh, thanks, and yes quite sadly it's an old Dell, Dishdog, why would I need a new mobo? I could probably get a case to fit my current one?
Sorry to double post but guy is that an Optiplex series? GX something or other?

that's for PCI, and it looks to me like they discontinued the product.
(I have AGP 4x/2x)

Anyways, I did some serious searching on the Dell Support Forums...
I didn't know this, but alot of other people using my system had the same problems...
So I found a link for Low-Profile/Half-Size AGP/PCI/PCI Express cards.
