is it true that the AMD Processors are faster than intel cus i have an AMD Sempron 2800+ at 2 ghz and was just wondering what this is compaired to on a pentium .

amd 64s are faster than intel in games, other types of amds that dont have any 64 bit support what so ever suck compared to pentium 4s. get yourself an amd 64 3200 venice, i have that with 6800gt, every game runs like butter. this is the truth amd 64 owns everything in games, regular amds with not 64 support are bad for games compared to pentium 4s.

the name sempron 2800 at 2ghz means it is as fast as a 2800mhz pentium 4. thats why its called sempron "2800".

yeah, also the new Athlon 64x2 dual core processors totally kicked intels ass and their dual core processors.

Your statement might be a bit misleading, a Sempron is the successor to the Duron. The AMD Duron is a bit better than the Intel Celeron.

Details here...

Please note the ratings for the Semprons

3000+ 1.8 GHz - 2800+ 1.6 Ghz - 2600+ 1.6 Ghz

Well Intel just came out with the new Pentium D which is also Dual Core plus Hyper Thread, so Intel is right now above AMD with their new processor! The new Pentium D runs basically 4 processors in 1!

yea, the Pentium D, does everything that the AMD Opteron Dual Core does, plus more... The P-D is also faster and can run an average of 38 programs at the same time with out having any kind of lag on the computer. On top of that, you can even run 2 anti-virus scans and 2 anti-spyware scans and still not have any lag, that is where the hyperthread comes into play! So right now, the Intel Pentium D processor is the best one out there, only problem is that it costs $4000.
