CD and DVD drive troubles

hey guys and gals

ive just logged onto my computer to burn a cd, but in "My computer" there is only C drive and a floopy disk drive. whats going on?

i put a music cd in and still nothing..usually they start up automatically.

how/ what do i do to fix this??

they sound very similair definately look into that thread and if it doesn't work make sure your drive is connected on your motherboard it could have gotten bumped off dislogded

Is it showing in device manager?

we have progress!

the dvd player is recognising audio CDs and listed in device manager.
however, the E drive (normal cd rom drive) is not listed in device manager or recognising any type of cd.

i cant believe this happened overnight. RRRRRRRRRR!!!!

you know since they both happened overnight have you checked your connections...or do you not think it's hardware related...

This happend to me with my secondary HDD all the time, but after i restarted it came back.
