I have an hp and just recently, it has been acting up. For some reason, I was just messing around on it and i had like five windows open at once. Then i can't remember if it restarted or crashed or if i just shut it down but the next time the computer booted up, all the previous windows i had open come up again. It isn't just hibernation because the whole comp reboots but for some reason all the windows come up at the start. does anyone know what is happening?

In this case, it could still be Hibernation, or Sleep.
Check your Power Options in the Control Panel, under Hibernate, is it set to on? Then go to Advanced, whats it set to do when the pwer switch is pressed? Or whats it set to do after a certain amount of time has surpassed?
It mostly common sense stuff, so I'm sure you can sort it out
