I heard that linux is free is this true?
becouse i wouldnt mind dual booting my pc with win xp and linux.
if it is free whare can you download it from?

Most of the Linux distro's are free to download, or for a few dollars on cd. Go here to Distro Watch and have a look at the various distro's and from where to get them from. http://distrowatch.com/

You might find it better to try a live version that runs from the cd, here's one that I have used...

That was being given away on some demo CD's a while back if I can remember correctly. PC Format was one of them.

You need to have a Fat 32 partition to edit the files. I have 1 gig fat 32 on the drive that I have Suse 9.3 64 bit Linux on. Just in case something goes wrong with my Win Xp drive.
