Help Me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Um...

I build these as web cruisers. Not much good otherwise for a p1 or p2 cpu. I did stumble across this running the model numbers.

Hewlett Packard Pavilion 7125 Memory
Maximum Memory 128MB
Memory Slots 4 (2 banks of 2) Install in pairs
non-removable base memory 0MB

I don't know how much help that will be to you but every little tibbit helps. As for the hard drive you'll find the bios will limit the size of the drive. If memory serves the maxed out size is going to be either 10 or 15 gigs at the most. I would not bother with trying to upgrade the bios. The board and cpu is pretty much going to be the bottle neck for upgrading.

NOTE
Do Not install more than 64 MB of memory in motherboards with the 430FX, 430VX or 430TX system controller chipsets as the system will actually run slower due to a memory caching problem. Systems with these chipsets include the 31xx, 32xx series, as well as the 5030, 5040, 5120, 5215, 5250, 5315, 5315D, 5320, 7010, 7020, 7030, 7050, 7070, 7090, 7055, 7110Z, 7125, 7130P, 7145, 7160, 7170, 7222, 7260, 7275, 7310, 8140, 8160, 8201, 8240, 8242, and 8246 models.

The HP motherboards that use SIMMs have four 72-pin SIMM sockets that are arranged in pairs called Bank 0 and Bank 1. Both SIMMs in a bank must have the same type and size of memory installed. SIMMs must be ordered and installed in pairs. You cannot pull one of the SIMMs in an existing pair and replace it with three SIMMs of a higher value. You must keep the existing pair or remove and install two new pairs. Tin lead SIMMs are required. Order 60 ns EDO DRAM (if CPU clock speed is less than 90 MHz, use 70 ns EDO DRAM). The height of the SIMM modules must not exceed 1 inch.

Since no one wanted to read the link I posted above about this computer...I brought the link to you to read here.
Now I don't really want to seem overbearing here and you can waste all the money you want to on your own stuff, But you got 48 megs of memory installed. 16mbs more just is not going to do you a bit of good.
and if you use more than that ...as noted above, you are just spinning your wheels in the mud.

one more question, sorry. I am currently using Netscape 7.2 on my HP 7125 and it runs very slowly. Now I know I shouldn't expect it to run quickly it is just that before when I just had IE, it was running much faster. Plus I have dsl on this computer and its even running slow on netscape. Is this my computer or just Netscape?

probably a little of both. make sure that you keep your computer cleaned and free of malware/spyware and that you use" disk cleanup" and "defrag" regularly.

it could be a mixture of both of course there is an easy way to find out test with different internet browsers firefox is always good and it's free!
