Unlocking CPU

I got a IBM Aptiva M41 with a 75MHZ P1 CPU. I upgraded my CPU to a 100MHZ, but it still says 75MHZ. How can I fix this?

Define upgrade:Overclock or new CPU. Man if I were you, I would not waste any money or time on a P1!

Ok, ok...have you checked your BIOS settings for anything funky, or something that might prevent this? Additionally, have you checked your PC temperature and/or fan settings with anything (software, tools, etc.)

Well, then...um how do you know that it only reads at 75mhz?

I went to the information center and it reads 75MHZ

um, how did you upgrade: overclock or new cpu?

and you are COMPLETELY sure that the MB/CPU are compatible...?
