Somehoe I pressed F7 key while cleaning my keyboard. The F7 key invoked the Caret Browsing on/off switch. What is it? Any patyicular advantage of using it?

I should have known better. The caret browsing has nothing to do with this forum. It's a nice feature of Firefox (I uses it once in a while).

For about all shortcut keys for all browsers

the caret(symbol^) is used along with certain other letters to perform functions on their own for text editing(map). The fuction allows the tab key to be used or the arrow keys to move this symbol across the screen to the right position.
contrl+shift+F7 turns this on/off

>and of course for web browsing has special attributes also depenent on browser<
