Please enlight me

I don't know. I guess they think that having the most updated PC is a good thing. Screwing with the BIOS can turn your expensive computer into a nice looking box.

XpUser, It has also amazed me as to this, too! They always end up screaming for help as to "why can't I get my computer to boot" later on and of course they will convenately forget to mention this fact that they have changed the bios or windows boot to reflect "their personal" computer. Then when we can't initiate the fix and they have to wipe and format and reinstall...guess who gets blamed as not good techs or bad help!

Right on, lurks. This is the very reason why I skipped reading and helping threads dealing with boot screens.

My boot screen goes past that fast I hardly notice it, so why change it.

Mine's faster than yours - no boot screens at all - BIOS and boot.ini selection and XP welcome screen. As soon as I power up the PC it goes straight to my desltop. Do you believe me?
