Alright. Another build challenge for everyone. I've been researching for awhile now on my next computer build and figuring out everything I want; however, I want to see what I get from you guys.
I already have the case (ATX), and don't worry about a monitor, mouse, keyboard or speakers. The case did come with a PSU, but if you think it's necessary, include a better one in the setup.
Budget: $600 - $800
Uses: I don't play games too much, but I still want something that will be able to play Half-Life 2 decently if and when I decide to get it. Other than that, it's mostly just for internet and applications use.
Requirements: Multi-threading is a must. I also would prefer AMD over Intel. 80GB minimum for the hard drive (preferably Western Digital). I also need a motherboard with connections for front USB ports and headphone and microphone ports. PCIe and SATA are optional. nVidia chipset preferred, but not required. A firewire port would be nice, but also optional. I plan on getting an LCD monitor, so choose the graphics card appropriately. Integrated audio is fine.
