Hi so I just sat my Higher Computing Exam. There was only one question i was not entirely sure on so Ill post it here and see what you fine people come up with!

Joe is playing a game on his computer. The processor uses a 24-bit data bus and a 32-bit address bus.
Calculate the maximum amount of memory which Joe's computer could address. Express your answer in suitable units.

(Hint: I gave my answer in Gigabytes.)

(Worth 3 marks)

hehe... I'm struggling with that. I dont know anything to do with buses and stuff in PC's...

Nope...cant start to work it out...

Isn't it a 24-bit address bus and a 32 bit data bus?

No my numebrs are as in the question paper, I know we are more used to a data bus of 32 (or 64 :D ), but the exam setters dont think of sense like that!

Anyway swimming competition tonight, wish ma luck, catch ya later

Um...

It's not the answer they were looking for but how you arrived at the answer you got.
