this is my first computer. im going to pair it with a 20 inch dell widescreen monitor.. is it a good system or not? the price of all the components will be 2 grand.. w/o the monito

Everything is excellent!
one suggestion would be to atleast get a cd-rw/dvd-rom combo drive. there isn't that much difference in the pricing. But you need to be able to burn back-ups.

I'd try to get more HD space... 36.7G isn't that much. Even my laptop has 60G And as the others hvae said, some form of CD-R would be a good idea... Weither it be DVD-CD-RW or perhaps an additional CD-RW(so you could make duplicates)
