everyone please keep my computer in your thoughts, I've decided to flash my motherboards bios to try to fix my problem described Here , I hope I don't screw it up, it's the first time I've done it.

edit: I just did it and it works.......asus update made it really easy. so now we'll see if it helped my problems....

I don't think it will be that, but you could try it i guess.

Either take the battery out for a few hours, or if theres a bios cmos jumper, move this to another setting to wipe it, like if its on setting 3, take it down to 1 for a few mins, then put it back.

This isn't neccessarily near the battery as it can be at the bottom of the board in some motherboards. heres a pic:

It should have at the bottom in small lettering, CMOS memory header

I hope this helps. You did say you've tried a reformat?

Kewl, glad that bits okay :) Hope it fixes other problems too, though it seems more windows related than bios i'm afraid in some way.

Did you look here as suggested? It probably is not a bios problem and that should be the last resort. It may be a faulty memory stick, video card, or some pci device. If you did a format and reinstall and it is still occurring I Would suspect a hardware problem.
