You'll have to try and get hold of an original disc in that case.
laptops unlike PC's cd rom drives can have problems reading copied discs. Or try another copy...

ALLRITE, I HAVE GOTTEN A NEW COPY OF WINDOWS 2000, AND I HAVE ANOTHER PROBLEM NOW, IT BOOTS, THE BLUE SCREEN POPS UP SAYS THAT SETUP IS UPLOADING ALL THE FILES THAN AFTER ITS DONE NOTHING HAPPENS

NOTHING!!!!!

COMPUTER RESTARTS AND IT ASKS TO BOOT AGAIN

rall had two threads going on the same problem. per posted in the other one. When both threads came up one under the other I made one go away. But still the fact remains more info such as make and model is really needed. Compaq made quite a few different models of the Armada. Need a little more to go on.

I can't figure out which is the bios key. But if you figure it out, you can set the boot sequence to

cd
floppy
hard drive

then it will work correctly.

whenthe laptop starts up at the 'compaq' screen you need to press F10 when you see a white block appear in the top right hand corner, that gets you in to the BIOS
