Connection Help

I've got another machine in my room, running windows 98, its got a 10/100 slot which i plugged a ethernet cable into, hooked to my router and still cant get on the net in there? can anybody help please?

Do you get connection lights? Is DHCP set up on your router?(it should be by default...) Is your networking card in that other comp even working?

i got it. I'm going to use knoppix instead...which i'd rather do anyways
