My old computer need HELP!

I have an old computer which when I play an old computer games lags and i was wondering if anyone knows what's the name of the program that STOPS everyother program from loading at the starting up except the computer game?

I think it might be apache somthing..

thanks alot. but there is a program that i usued along time ago that stopped everything from loading and you pick which program to load..

John, the prog techo was talking about is in your Start > run like he said, I dont know if there is any other programs to change what starts up or not, but I know that 1 does the trick

yeah thats all you need to do is start...run...msconfig
