Laptop computer problem

I somtimes get a message on the screen when I turn the laptop on which reads:

WINDOWS COULD NOT START BECAUSE THE FOLLOWING FILE IS MISSING OR CORRUPT:
\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM

YOU CAN TRY TO REPAIR THIS FILE BY STARTING WINDOWS SETUP USING THE ORIGINAL SETUP CD-ROM.
SELECT 'R' AT THE FIRST SCREEN TO START REPAIR.

I get this message on a black background just after the specs get shown when you switch it on.
I am not a computer whizz so I didnt have a clue what to do and I have no original setup cd-rom.

I ring up the laptop company and they just tell me to restore it back to factory settings but the problem still happens. They then took the computer in and replaced the hard drive but it still happens.
Its happened 5 times in in 3 months just at random times, does anyone why this happens?

im not sure mate. thats pretty wierd. get a new labtop is all i can really say. of course, i would just back up[ your hd and then wipe it and install a new os cd. if you restored it to factory settings then the file was screwed up to start with.
