prob w/ friends computer

ok, everything works, but for some reason, CS has lines going through the screen and it freezes on the main menu....he has to restart it every time he tries to play....what is wrong? he has all the latest drivers installed......nvidia FX 5900 XT (XFX)

Could be just thr monitor or something interfering w/the screen itself. Does he have any kind of speaker's next to his monitor ?? sometimes having spaeker's that are not properly sheilded will result in a weird color change spot on the screen do to the magnet.

Some other type's of interference can cause undesired results.such as having stereo receiver's next to a monitor or computer.

I woudld'nt think this would cause the main menu to freeze though would it? It would explain the lines though if it was all the time

Does the computer respond to Alt+Control+Delete commands? Or Alt+Tab commands?

Its got nout to do with his moniter if you read what he says.

no, u have to do a hard shutdown to get out of it
