how can i prevent that from happening. thats not right how can they screw people over like that? there'd have to be a way to do it. oh you mean if they change somehting on the video card themselves!!!!!. i thought you were talking about mobo drivers and such

No, they physically change the way the pixel engine is built or runs, then SLi won't work. You better start saving and buy that damn card fast!

but not if i bought one that was made last year or before they start changing stuff. then its fine.i cant jsut save up, i didnt plan on getting SLI til the summer when i can get more money. thanks alot eastern for scaring the hell outta me

Ok, I know this is an old thread so don't flame me. I didn't want to start a new thread.

Now I was thinking of either updating the processor to this:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819103465

or this:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819103531

OR

I might upgrade the graphics card to this:

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1229514&Tab=2&NoMapp=0

Of course I don't have to change anything and leave it as it is.

This is a lot harder than it appears.

I think your doing what I did.. and now I'm fixing it before I die..
And that is, you want the best of the best and you go and you try to get the best.. but just get whats good..

Because in reality, the best changes alot.. and someone who tries getting the best will likely go bankrupt.. lol.

Anyway, good luck to you.. looks good but I'd advise you to stick with the 3500 unless you really want a stronger processor. Also, the 6600GT should do fine.
