Boy this has been asked a lot. I'm not gonna get into TONS of detail, instead I'll just kinda try and make it basic for you. AMD is mostly for gaming, office use, running single applications and even basic home use. Intel is mainly for video/photo editing, rendering and encoding and a little better at running multiple tasks at once. There isn't really any clear winner, it's just more of what you use. Each can fit someones needs, but not all, so there isn't a best, but there is a best for the things that a particular person does the most on their computer. And I don't really feel like getting into the reasons as to why each is so good at what they do, etc. So maybe someone else has the time for that.
