ah problem

Trust me, its not just my imagination... it is possible! :p

Have you seen how dangerous EMP can be? If you watch 24 you'd know what the impacts can be as this was a bit of a storyline inside the main plot but in a much smaller scale.

Trust me, even though they don't damage people in far proximetry, it'd sure kill anything electronic. You never know what dangers this sort of thing could impose on the whole entire world...everyone with no power, no food because they cant run anything, no banks, so no money, no computers! *breathes in*, everything you can possibly mention that you like would be wiped out... freaky but totally totally plausable...

Yip, but it's simple to sheild it, even very very powerful pulses. Look at what happens when a car gets struck by lightning. A driver would be perfectly safe as the car acts like a Faradays cage. It's not the rubber tyres that protect you, but the metal chassie of the car (infact, the rubber tyres can make it more dangerous). Same Idea can be emplimented on electronics. Most defence satalites have to be EMP sheilded. And most of the Armed forces equipment.

kage your giving me nightmares i wont sleep tonight mate lol.
anyway what do you mean edit edit edit

hehe I could scare you more but I have to go now :p

I meant edit edit edit, because if i didn't put that you would have put 3 posts 1 after the other. You can edit the posts with new information. Creating a new one is a bit pointless for everything you say.

Yeah things like that do have to be shielded. Quite a dangerous concept though if anything like that did get set off. We'd be back to using candles and farming our own crops and all... the only computer you'd have would be in your own head...

Happy sleeping by the way Assembler! :p

LOL, the way an EMP bomb works is buy creating a hugh magnetic field flux within a very short time period. When a nuke goes of in the atmospher, the gamma rays that are radiated excited electrons on the air molecules to such a level that they shoot of as Beta radiation. This leaves a large portion of the air positively charged (Ionised air molecules). With another section negitvely (with the electrons). Because this happens almost instantenously it produces a huge magnetic field in such a small time. This causes eddie currents (just an electrical current) to be produced in almost all metal objects. because of the sensitivity of IC chips and similar electronics, the produced current compleatly fries appliencies. Over a period of a few weeks, radio comunication over the area can be expected to have heavy interference. Anyway, hope that clears it up.

In simpler terms, It's the exact same as what Golden Eye is in the 007 James Bond Movies. It's based on that. The former USSR (Russia), China and the USA are specialists in EMP bombs. But to me, thats the least of our worries. I'm more scared of Nano-technology- of which, China is far more advanced in than any other country, and guess what, they don't really like the US or UK that much.

yeah... I wonder what they could be programmed to do... I like the idea of nano bots though. The idea of having robots and machines made this way using individual atoms

We are the borg, lower your sheilds and weapons. We will add your add your technological and biological distictiveness to our own. Resistance is futile.....

Hehe. Nano tech is worrying
