i'm at school and my it instructer is wondering if we can install a windows os on his 1gb lexar flash drive we can't seem to find an answer he says he's gonna try but i don't want him to mess up his flash so any help would be vey much apprecieated thanx

then if any

what could he install because i looked it up and some guy says linux
and i aslo chechek it out and win 98 seems kina small enough

Yeah but i don't think it'd boot because of same reason 99nasha says. It would only support it when in windows and so couldn't hold an operating system...

I'd guess it'd be the same principle. It would still have to boot somewhere, and does linux see USB devices when they are plugged in before booting?

I don't even know how USB hard drives are supposed to store operating systems on. There must be a way of doing it because people buy them. Can these hold operating systems and boot?
