change the INTEL to AMD and tehn get a AMD pci-ex mobo and your set. thats the previous gen intel cpu btw, and those are no good for games

RATED - 7

if its for games.

RATED - 8 for other stuff just because its last gen cpu.

I need help with AMD. I'm not as well off with them as I am with Intel's.
I mean what are the equivalents in speed? Like I see a P4 3.2 GHZ for like the same price as an AMD 2.4 GHZ (I know that the speed isn't everything).

What core should I get?

Does AMD support DDR2?

If it doesn't is DDR2 worth going the Intel route?

Yes, it is primarily for games.

If it's primarily for games then deifnitely get a AMD. Since you can only spend around 850 I would recommend maybe one of the lower end Athlon 64's. Maybe the Athlon 64 3200 Winchester and then an nforce 4 board.

EDIT: And no, DDR2 is crap.

Not $850. Just keep it under $1000. I am only 15 so I'm not really rowing it in the dough.

Guys, you don't just have to rate mine. Post yours as well.
