My computer needs to be repaired. It needs a new motherboard. Will the repairman or person fixing it be able to see any of my personal information on in the computer?

Hi there, and welcome!

If it has a working hard drive in it, then yes its a possiblity. Though I wouldn't worry too much about it, though it can be a worrying prospect

well

Well I went to the internet options and cleaned the cookies, temp int folders, and did an adaware check with the lavasoft thing right before it crapped out. And i never used auto complete really. Does this help protect my information? It should make it so they cant see any of it. right?

Yeah it should do.
Don't worry too much, It'll be fine like David says. Nothing they'll be interested in

If you do a lot of buying over the internet you should be worried, but if you just regular stuff on the internet or just play games on your computer you have nothing to be worried about.

I think its the law to report illegal stuff, so if you use p2p or bittorents and download songs and software, think of that. Not saying they always will, because honestly, half of those people that work in computrer shops do the same trhing.

My friend worked at a local computer store once and was repairing someones comp. He found a bunch of underaged pornography, his boss told him to just delete it. So I guess it depends on who you get.

I never downloaded anything really, and if i did i usually just deleted later. I didn't ever have Kazaa or napster or anything.
