About HDD mounting

Making it out of wood eh? Interesting. What kind of wood are you using?

Thick, not MDF, more duriable, And I think ill use a stain on it. Wont have light kits or anything like that, my keyboard lights up the room anyhow.

Ok what iorney, im stumped on how to mount the HDD sideways, I could only think of a way where there going to be permenitly installed.

Im going to sleep on it. if any suggestions reply all you want, the more the better. fyi 2(80mm) will be pushing air through them, an old metal one i had wouldnt work :.(

As long as your hard drives aren't just lying there and are on proper mounts then they should be just fine.

Im making a custom case, I was wondering if it was safe to mount them sideways.
Reason why...
Its easier for air to cool them if heat rise's...
I would only have 3 HDD in this fashion; IDE and 2 RAID.
I want to have a hole on the bottom of the case with a fan pulling air in(120mm), 2(80mm) about 6in above it(right under the HDD's, pushing air againist them).
And if your wondering about what kind of case this is, its wooden, so I need to everything before its made.

FYI, I mean mount them Virticaly, unlike the horizontal standard.

Lian-Li makes some cases where the HDD's mount sideways.
