OK, I looked at steampowered.com's support and found that they finally discovered my issue. I had been having tons of freezing while playing Source or even HL2 and looping sounds and stuff, and they said it has to do with the sound card. Since I have an onboard chip though, I disbaled it in the BIOS and now when I play (with no sound of course), I get no freezing or anything. So now I gotta go out and buy an actual sound card. Also you may be wondering why I added monitor, well the monitor I have now is sh*t and like 5 years old and I need a new one bad. So I narrowed it down to two monitors and one sound card, but I wanna see if this sound card is ok too.

Or this monitor...

They both have great resfresh rates which is also something I'm really looking for since the 17in I'm using now does 1280x1024 at 60hz which is horrible and making my eyes bleed.

And there's the sound card. I don't really need anything spectacular, just something that will stop all these game problems, but it is good right, cuz I don't know much about the "value" version. Thanks a lot people!

I'll take the Viewsonic because it has higher resolution settings and it is a flat screen compared to the NEC one. Viewsonic is also one of the leaders in monitors too.

As for the soundcard, it's a good card and will do it all. Audigy 2 is always the way to go.

Yeah, personally I think viewsonic is the best for monitors and NEC is in the top10 IMO, plus my friend had one and it was really nice and just quality in general. Those resolutions and refresh rates are making me drool though for the viewsonic.
