Sound good?

Don't get the Gigabyte 6600GT card because there was a person on here that had higher operating temperatures than usual. It's still safe, but try getting a more reputable brand like MSI or something.

For the Corsair RAM, go with the XMS dual channel kit, not the Value one. Better performance.

*Random thought: I hate my Gigabyte motherboard even though it's working beautifully. I swear I will never buy another Gigabyte product ever again. I rather try an Asus next time or better yet, get me another MSI.

Gaming during College, eh? Shouldn't you be studying and working hard? Haha, just kidding...we all deserve some fun time to ourselves once in a while.

lol. college is really supposed to be fun. out on your own, u know? no parents on ur frekain back 24/7. man, im asain and i get tat 365. i cant wait till college. seriously. lol. i like the case btw. and i think u really should savea a little more and then get a nice 6800. a big step up for just a little more. or an x850. depends on which company u like.

Gigabyte are a pretty reputable brand and do me pretty fine. I have a friend who's had his for a year or more and had no temp problems or anything else for that matter but any way i think you should go for a x850 xl. It's a pretty good card better than the 6600gt or the 6800. I like them but it ur choice i guess.

Hey thanks for all of your help. As it stand now I've figured out most of the hardware that i will be using. Here is the list...
Mobo
ASUS "A8N-SLI Deluxe" nForce4 SLI
GPU
MSI nVIDIA GeForce 6600GT Video Card
CPU
AMD Athlon 64 3500+,
Memory
Corsair Value Select Dual Channel Kit
Hard Drive
Western Digital 80GB 7200RPM SATA
Optical Drive
Lite-On Beige 16X DVD+/-R DVD Burner
Now all i need to get i a PSU and case any suggestions?

get a case with the sides separate to the top (like not all one big up and over then down the other side metal hull) and put a but 120mm cycle-out fan on top so it sucks the heat out the top and makes the box a LOT cooler!

if u want it for gaming too then chances are u might be going to a couple of LANs??? try something that comes wiith carry straps!!! easier to haul around by FAR!!!!
