Im bulidng a new computer. I went and bought an 80GB IDE one. I thought it was SATA. Now should I sell this one and buy a SATA one, or just stick with the IDE one?

sata is faster, but theres nothing wrong w/ ide. wat speed is it? ata133? u would have to pay more 4 a sata even if u sell that one.

Listen to mr.monger for the price difference an 18Mhz gain isn't all that impressive. Only sell it if you plan to buy a SCSI, which still costs more but blows the ATA and SATA out of the water.

Can't you return the drive or exchange for another one? If it's too much of a hassle, keep the EIDE one. You won't see a "tremendous" gain from a SATA drive.
