Mobo/RAM

My MOBO has 4 slots for RAM, and 2 are black and the other 2 are blue. They're are 2 sets of one black and one blue beside eachother. There is a gap between each set.

I have 2 questions:
1) Do the colours mean anythig?
2) Does the sets mean anything?

if you want dual channel, then yes it does. If you dont then it doesnt.

Its color coded for dual channel. You put one stick in the blue (or black) and then another in the blue (or black if your first choice was black). If you're just getting one stick then you can put it anywhere.

i have i stick in already and i'm buying another one. It's a dif brand than the first (but same speed and size), can it still be dual chaneled?

Just match the specs of the first card in the system and you'll be fine.
