hey i just bought a 3000+ and when i change the multiplier in my bios it doesnt change when i check it in windows....why?

what are you using to check it are you incressing the multiplier or decressing it???? also try leaving the muliplier stock and incresing the fsb the gives a more desirable oc i belive but maybe someone with more experience can shed some light on that subject

A logical reason is maybe because you did not save the new setting! Also, some multipliers are topped at a certain value ( like 15 ..times your bus speed..200Mhz which gives you 3000 or 3 Gig). Sometimes it is not set at max. and there you can increase the multiplier value to match your processor frequency.

it depeneds when you bought your processor. If you bought it recently, there is no way you can unlock it even if you do stuff to it. It is locked internally. And the 3000+'s multi is way tooo high IMO. 13x.
