processes needed to run xp

Hi,
does anyone know what the absolutely necessary processes that are needed to run windows xp are, just the bare minimum

I dunno but it can't be that many. I have 35 processes at most times, even when I'm not doing anything, and this rises to 45 when I am lol.

I have 61 at startup. Terrible huh? But it doesn't slow me down one bit so I just say, "Brint it on".

The biggest problem is that "minimum set" will vary based on your configuration. The best advice is to use the info in task manager and from this site:

to attempt to identify what each particular executing task is, and decide based on that whether or not it's "safe" to turn off.

This is a good reference to what many of the Windows XP services are and whether or not you might need them.
