Why won't memtest work??????

I downloaded it, extracted it so that it comes up in a folder titled boot with a file inside titled boot and another titled memtest. I put them both on a disc and when I rebooted nothing happened. Windows just loaded up like normal, so wtf? I changed my boot device priority to cd-rom first and it still won't work. Any suggestions? Thanks.

try booting from a floppy and i heard you have to activate it in the bios.

Activate it from the BIOS? What do you mean? Oh and my floppy drive isn't working for some reason so that's outa the question.
