Need New Graphics Card

I'm gonna go with a 6600 Gt. But i'm concerned I'll be wating my money on outdated shit in a year.

and then when you buy a better card next year it'll be outdated again. either way no matter what card you get its gunna be outdated next year. get the 6600gt and then sli mobo and you wont be wasting your money. BFG,MSI,Leadtek remember dont go with a cheap brand

Yeah if you do get a 6600 GT then make sure it's one of the brands that money listed above.

if you have an sli board then of course, but it also has to be the same exact card.

If your gonna go SLi then you should save up for two 6800s. But I'm running Doom3 with my current setup (see sig) on Ultra Quality and 1024x768 with no performance hit whatsoever. But thats a relatively low res. So I reckon a 6600 should do very nicely.
