wouldnt it suck if it was a Bios Virus? those are really nasty, and can come back even after a reformat! also have you tried cleaning it out with your spyware remover, and then doing a system restore to a time before you had the virus..
i spent 24hrs trying to remove it with a shed load of methods and spyware removal tools. it still came back.
the answer to what it does is this: it removes your p.c s ability to play 16 bit audio?media files. when you try to run such a file, it offers you a tool to re-enable you to play them at a cost! what a cheap shot hey.
