Graphics card trouble, HELP!!!!!

I just purchased my graphics card and i'm trying to install it. I've got it hooked up correctly, and i have installed all the drivers and followed all the directions on the disk. But, it won't work. When i plug my monitor into the card, nothing happens it is a black screen. I've never had a graphics card in this computer, and it has Intel Extreme Integrated Graphics, would that interfere? What can i do, please help.

You have to uninstall the intergrated graphics first, go to add/remove programs and look for it.

Reinstall the drivers for the graphics card, and then it SHOULD work..

I'm almost cetain you disable integrated graphics in BIOS under integrated perhipeals or something like that.

I don't have bios i can mess with, this is a store bought package emachines T2895. Now i redid all that, and now my resolution is tiny when plugged into my mobo, and when i plug it into my GeForce FX5200, it shows my desktop backgrouns all small, woth nothing on it, and i can't do anything. What is wrong, mabey my monitor, or my power supply?

Your resolution is screwed up. I think your stuck with the integrated...the 5200 isnt that great ither

I know you do! But you ahve to disable integrated graphics and thats in BIOS!
