How do I change my IP address?

I'm using SBC yahoo, however, i don't know how to change my IP address. I haven't really attempted it, because i heard you weren't able to change your IP Address when you use dsl.

Is there a way though, i'm using windows xp.

Um I dont think that you yourself can do it, but your ISP can, they might do it for you, give them a call and see. but why would you wanna change it anyway? did a hacker get onto your comp or something?

No, it's just a cautionary step for me.

then changing your IP realy isnt nessesary, so why would you want to do it unless you really need to?
