Hello, My cousin has a computer which was from her fathers work and is operated by Windows 2000 Professional And has a password at login so we cannot get in and we tried to reformat with my bootup disc but it will not read the disc so all hope has failed. If someone can help thanx its a real waste of a computer too.

lol... windows 2000 security is always junk.. well i guess it depends on how you configure it.. I use windows 2000 advanced server at my other house. That seems to work the best with file sharing and password protecting. At least thats my opinion

i dunno, but i think this is in the wrong section, maybe it's just me oh well...

what i usually do with my "sensative" files is just encrypt em with pgp.

also, in linux you can make a directory with a . infront of it
example:
mkdir .directory
and the directory won't show up in a normal ls -l but will in a ls -al

you can also try putting it in a .zip folder and then you can add a password. Unfortunately, this means you have to unzip the folder everytime. Well, sometimes...
