Why don't you just try it? I did it to my laptop. I can't tell much of a difference, but it certainly didn't harm anything...

yer i just tried it with my 10gig harddrive thats completetly full of mp3s, as far as i can tell its made quite a big difference to the speed wooo thanks eheheh

OK, hang on a sec, do u have to do this once for every drive or once for every hard disk? I have 1x 160GB HDD and am gonna install another 120GB HDD. Do i have to do this 2ce or just once?

When I try and type "sysedit" in run, it comes up with an error complaining that the file isnt sutiable to run in MS-DOS.

I've just done it. Computer booted up alright. Can't say I've noticed a boost in speed though, but I haven't really tried accessing much. I thoguht it'd do something liek increase bootup, and loading things...

Worth a try though, and maybe I will notice some things.

What worries me though, is what is this command actually doing to the hard drive?
