at the muin i have 256mb, would it be ok if i got the same type of ram but 512mb so i have 768mb RAM, or wouldnt i be able to do this.
Would 768mb still run ok
It would greatly help your PC but if your motherboard has dual channel capability then you would be better off with two 256 Meg sticks or 2 512 Meg sticks. If your motherboard has dual channel capabitlity and you put different size RAM then you should check you mobo documentation as to what is the best manner to insert them.
