Now I dont know overly much about processes, I know what say 50% of them are, and I realise there are many crucial to boot and run windows.
But could someone please explain or suggest why I have so much stuff running clean from a boot up. (I've done all the msconfig etc etc, no programs are starting that shouldnt be. norton 2005 accounts for about 5 or so of the processes but there should surely be less. Thanks)

I realise a lot of bugs are disguised as svchost.exe because that stops them looking obscure, but norton finds no problems anywhere on any scan, but 6?! Almost any process I dont know in the list when trying to end it gives the usual error of when trying to close any important process (i.e critical ones)
Thanks for any help. (thats 43 in total by the way)

i would run a spyware and virus scan as soon as possible becasue there is a lot of svchost.exe there .. lol

thats my point, I've run adaware and all of the norton 2005 utilities and my comp is completely clean. Straight from a reboot to 43 processes though.. I just don't understand it.

Woah, a tripler. Um google hi-jack this and do that and print your log on here.

what? either its cos im just out of bed.. or that makes no sense what so ever. However, I can print my log on here, heres a screenshot of my svchosts on reboot this morning, still 6, but overall processes down to 40
