Hacking Windows XP/ Pro Admin Passwords?

If you went to work for a security company and you hacked your school network, they'd be pretty impressed.
 
jack22 not nessiarly. exploiting and understanding secuirty is different.

For example:

A kid can read a tutorial, log on a default account guest / test admin that has a default password install a root kit. Just because he compromised the system's secuirty doesn't mean much. My friend's school had a master password for all the mac g4 laptops they received. After 3 failed login attemps it gives you a hint "School Distrist" which brought them to one logical answer.

Usually it's the admin's fault a system is compromised. If the system is configured correctly, patches are installed, and precautions are taken (anti-virus, firewall, packet filter) the system is a lot more difficult to compromise.
