POST and how it checks RAM??

What RAM? D/S/RIMM RAM?
CMOS RAM?
HUH??

It is scanning your SDRAM (or DDR, same thing) The first 16KB are the interpret area, and they determine if you did a restart or a cold start, or a complete overstart (taking CMOS battery out discharging CMOS 16KB SDRAM keepfile area)

and on that RAM there is a keepfile that tells what the previous boot was? And it begins to check that after the system clock gives its pulsations and during POST.

Am i right?

Ram is just Random Access Memory. It can be anything. Ram isnt just memory (ddr) etc. RAM, ROM and backing store. Learn

Thanks for making me more confused.

I understand that there is shadow ram and cmos ram. This isn't being very specific on what type of RAM.
nor which ram has the information that it reads or writes to. I'm just wondering which RAM it gets this stuff from.
